The Best College Football Games for iPhone and Android in 2026

For years, if you wanted college football on your phone, your options were thin. That changed in 2026. EA put college football on mobile for the first time, and the dynasty sims got a lot deeper too.

I build college football games, and I play everyone else's too. Here are the four best college football games on iPhone and Android right now, starting with mine. I'll tell you where each one falls short, mine included.

1. Winning Tradition: College Football Coach 27

Platform: iPhone, iPad, Android (PC on Steam in the works)  |  Price: Free to download (optional in-app purchase)

Best for: A full dynasty: recruiting, the transfer portal and play calling

This is my game, so take the ranking with that in mind. I built it because nothing else on my phone let me run a whole program. And to be clear, it isn't an EA game. College Football Coach 27 is a coaching sim from On Paper Sports, a small independent studio.

Recruiting is the heart of it. More than 1,500 recruits come through every year, from 1-star sleepers to 5-star blue-chips. You spend your weekly recruiting hours, host campus visits, make NIL offers and sweat out Signing Day. Scouting shows each recruit's potential and gem or bust odds, with written reports, so you know who's worth an offer. Then you rebuild through the transfer portal in live auctions against CPU teams.

On game day you watch every snap on the field and call the plays yourself: on key downs, on offense, on both sides of the ball, or let your coordinators handle it. There are 72 teams in 6 conferences with 29 rivalries, conference championships, 19 bowl games and a 12-team playoff. Over a 30-year career you hire coordinators with their own traits, earn coach perks, take phone calls from players who want out, and field job offers from other programs. Lose too much and you're on the hot seat.

The Creation Suite, an optional in-app purchase, lets you edit players, teams, coaches and conferences with your own logos and colors, and import or export rosters. If you also play Pro Football Coach 27, you can send your draft class there, so the players you recruited show up in your pro draft.

Good for: A real college football dynasty on nearly any phone: recruiting, NIL, the transfer portal and play calling, with a career that lasts 30 years.

Misses on: It isn't officially licensed, so there are no real players. If you want real college stars, that's EA's game below. It's also newer, so the community is still growing, and the Steam version isn't out yet.

2. EA College Football Mobile 27

Platform: iPhone, iPad, Android (recent devices only)  |  Price: Free (in-game purchases, including random packs)

Best for: Real players and real teams, if your phone can run it

This is the one with the license. You build a College Ultimate Team from real players and legends, then upgrade them with training and abilities. CFB Blitz gives you challenges with rewards that scale with your team, Mascot Mashup has you playing as and against school mascots, and live events follow the real college football season.

The catch is your phone. EA launched it on its highest-performance devices first. On iPhone it needs iOS 26 and a recent model, starting with the iPhone 13 Pro. On Android, the supported list is recent flagships like the Galaxy S24 and newer and the Pixel 10. EA says more devices are coming and keeps a compatibility list on its site, so check it before you download.

It's also an Ultimate Team game first. There's no dynasty yet. Dynasty Rush, where you'd recruit, work the transfer portal and run a program over multiple seasons, is still listed as coming soon. And like every Ultimate Team game, it's built around in-game currency and packs.

Good for: Real players, real teams and EA's presentation on your phone. Free to download.

Misses on: Only runs on recent phones. No dynasty mode yet. Currency and packs are a big part of the game.

3. The Program: College Football

Platform: iOS, Android  |  Price: Free (with ads and in-app purchases)

Best for: The recruiting grind

The Program gets the recruiting loop right. You travel the country scouting and recruiting, hire offensive and defensive coordinators, scouts and trainers, run practices and set weekly game plans. Weekly press conferences give it personality, and you build your program's prestige season by season on the way to a national title.

Where it gets frustrating is the prestige grind. Climbing takes a long time, and games play out in a sim, so the fun is in recruiting and program building more than game day. It's free, but expect ads and a store pushing upgrades.

Good for: Recruiting that feels competitive, press conferences with personality, and a free download on both platforms.

Misses on: The prestige climb is slow. Ads and the in-app store are always there. Less to do on game day than the other picks.

4. Retro Bowl College

Platform: iOS, Android  |  Price: Free (optional in-app purchases)

Best for: Quick arcade games between classes

Retro Bowl College is the official spin-off of Retro Bowl, and it keeps what made the original a hit: pixel art and simple controls you can pick up for a few minutes at a time. You coach one of 250 college teams, manage a tight budget, keep your players out of trouble and try to get your best guys drafted.

You play offense yourself, which is the fun part. The management side is lighter than a coaching sim, though, so if you want deep recruiting and a full dynasty, you'll outgrow it.

Good for: Fast, fun games on your phone, with just enough team management to keep it interesting.

Misses on: Shallow management next to a real dynasty sim. Defense plays itself.

Which one should you play?

If you want real players and your phone is new enough, EA College Football Mobile 27 is the official one, and it's free to try. If the recruiting trail is your favorite part, The Program is worth a download. If you want a quick game on the bus, Retro Bowl College is a blast.

But if you want to run a program, recruit your class, win the portal and call the plays on Saturday, that's the game I built. College Football Coach 27 is free on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Quick answers

Is College Football 27 on mobile?

Not the console game. College Football 27 is on consoles and PC. On your phone, EA's version is EA College Football Mobile 27, a separate free game built around College Ultimate Team, released in July 2026 for iPhone and Android.

Will EA College Football Mobile 27 run on my phone?

Only if it's fairly new. On iPhone it needs iOS 26 and a recent model, starting with the iPhone 13 Pro. On Android, EA supports recent flagships like the Galaxy S24 and newer and the Pixel 10. EA says more devices are coming, so check its compatibility list.

Is there a college football dynasty game on mobile?

Yes. College Football Coach 27 has a full dynasty over a 30-year career, with recruiting, NIL, the transfer portal, bowl games and a 12-team playoff. The Program and Retro Bowl College also let you build a program over many seasons. EA's Dynasty Rush mode hasn't launched yet.

No. Football Coach: College Dynasty is on Steam for PC and Mac, with no iPhone or Android version. On your phone, College Football Coach 27 is the closest thing: a deep college coaching sim where you also call the plays.

What's the best free college football game on Android?

All four games on this list are free to download on Android. For a dynasty, start with College Football Coach 27. For real players on a newer phone, try EA College Football Mobile 27.
